We all gathered at Crow pool around 11.00 o’clock in preparation for the journey. There a fleet of approximately 75 vessels that took part in this once a year event that enables access to remain for vessels to travel up the river Castle Pond .
We did end up having to tow one sailing dinghy and a few cruisers ahead of us did struggle navigating the channel due to its narrow and winding contours, but we all made it to be greeted by a large crowd awaiting our arrival.
Once in Castle Pond we tied up along the river bank and set off in search of refreshments. The atmosphere was incredible with lots of smiling faces, food, dancing and music.
At 13.45 pm we headed back to the ribs before leisurely heading back to the cove the sound of music and sight of the castle disappearing gradually into the distance.
