Last weekend in September, beautiful sunny sky with very little wind. The perfect opportunity to get another dive across to Skomer.
Setting off from Gelliswick mid morning on water that resembled glass was an absolutely stunning start to our day.
For some it was going to be a nice leisurely dive with a few photos being taken, for others it was a chance to practice some rescue skills they required for qualification to bsac sports diver.
As soon as we arrived we had one very curious seal, who more or less tried to chase us into the bay, approach the boat and even thought about pulling some fins. He did love the sound of the engine and every time we maneuvered, his head would pop up and the chase would start again.
Whilst the water was a little milky, we did have a good 4-5 meter visibility. The puffins have all migrated now, but the underwater life, lobsters, shrimp, anemones and double peacock worms made our day.
Skills done underwater was closely followed by some towing on the surface. Then we decided to head back towards Watwick Bay for a short dive on the sub, then a few more skills before heading home.
